PLAN AHEAD
Start your research early to ensure you have plenty of time to compare companies and estimates. Waiting until the last minute will just add unnecessary stress to your move. Keep in mind, if a company is available on short notice and for a price that seems too good to be true, there’s probably a reason. We suggest reaching out 30-60 days prior to your move date.

Keep in mind that there’s more to a company’s credibility than good reviews and pricing. An intrastate license, which is governed by a state licensing authority, is necessary for all local moves. In North Carolina specifically, the NCUC is responsible for regulating this. In addition, the moving company must hold a valid interstate license from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to move between state lines. There are also a lot of companies that operate without insurance, so be sure to look into that as well.
