Adonia started Crabtree Family Moving with her husband Cliff and her son Jared. She was teaching Special Education and handling all the marketing for Crabtree Family Moving when it all began along with taking care of our family. She has worked in just about every role in the company at some point. Adonia’s primary responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer is the financial accounting for the company. She has also handled our real estate marketing since its inception. She is the rock that keeps us all on the straight and narrow! Adonia still trains our new hires in packing techniques as she was the original packer with Crabtree Family Moving! Adonia has raised 4 children (Jordan, Jared, Jonah & Jena) and worked in the Raleigh and Durham school systems in kindergarten and special education for 10 years prior to forming Crabtree Family Moving. She loves summertime and traveling with Cliff and her children. Since the nest is empty most days, she enjoys having her Shih Tzu Harley and their new lab rescue Karl. Her secret passion is the bird sanctuary she is building in the backyard!
Nine years ago Jared Crabtree remembers starting the business with Cliff and Jonah. His first role with the company was not a glamorous one: carrying boxes on and off the trucks. However as the demand grew, so did Jared’s responsibilities. He began managing multiple crews, coordinated logistics, and overseeing the day to day operations. After more than fifteen hundred successful moves all over the country, he now embraces his role as Vice President of Business Development.
Jared holds two AMSA (American Moving & Storage Association) certifications as a Certified Moving Consultant and as a Certified Office & Industrial Consultant.
Jared currently oversees new employee training as well as the growth and development of the company. He notes that the key to his and the management team’s success is having worked on the moving trucks themselves. Knowing the entire process has given Jared the insight to relate to the staff and understand the customer experience, allowing him to set accurate expectations for the client from the moment they meet. Jared is proud that when anyone comes into contact with Crabtree Family Moving they can expect to become one of the family. Whether it is a customer, a co-worker, or a vendor, these relationships deepen through communication, customer service, product knowledge, work ethic, and trust.
When Jared is not serving the clients of Crabtree Family Moving, he is spending time with his wife, Aly, and their black lab, Hank. The family loves to travel, hike, scuba dive- really, anything outdoors! Jared is a sports enthusiast and a self described “hopeless Tennessee Volunteers fan”.
When Cliff Crabtree started Crabtree Family Moving 10 years ago, He was borrowing a truck from the trucking company he was managing at night and moving his friends and family on the weekends. Cliff and Adonia thought this might be an opportunity to give jobs to all their children and maybe some of the young men he coached and mentored in high school sports. To Cliff’s amazement, there were a lot of people that needed and appreciated hard work and to have someone that cared about getting them to their new home safe and sound. He spent 20 years in the Finance and Mortgage industry prior to starting Crabtree Family Moving. Cliff and Adonia met at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN where he majored in Business Management and Education. Cliff and Adonia just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary and have raised four amazing children (Jordan, Jared, Jonah, and Jena). Jared along with Jonah & Jena started the company from scratch with their mom and dad. Cliff and Adonia love every opportunity they get to go to the Ocean, and he is always looking forward to his next round of Golf!
Aly joined the Crabtree team in 2014. She is originally from the Philadelphia area and attended Penn State University, where she obtained a degree in Kinesiology. She works behind the scenes in a marketing role and is, most importantly, the one that keeps Jared in line. In her spare time, Aly enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

In the last five years, Austin has successfully packed and moved more than 1000 families all over the country. He has even personally moved a family as far as Eugene, Oregon. Austin’s experience in the field brings a tremendous amount of value to the coordination & sales side of the business. Austin officially joined the family in 2019 when he married Jena Crabtree. We love having Austin as a member of our family and staff and we cannot wait for you to see his smiling face during your upcoming estimate or move!
