23 Jun Four Essential Tips For Move Day
Your move day is right around the corner and you probably have a million things on your mind. Regardless of how much you planned, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the stress of the moving process. Don’t worry though, we’ve got you covered. Follow our moving day tips to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible on your big day.
HAVE EVERYTHING PREPARED
Making sure your home is prepared prior to your move is a big way to save both time and money. Before your movers arrive, double check to make sure all furniture is cleared off and that all of your boxes are sealed and labeled. If necessary, move any cars out of the driveway to ensure your moving team has easy access to their truck. Preparing your home in advance will allow your movers to get right to work when they arrive.
STAY AVAILABLE
As your movers get started, it is important to make sure you give them the space they need to operate. At the same time, this does not mean you should disappear! Be sure to stay available in case they have any questions for you. This will help prevent delays and allow you to get settled in your new home as quickly as possible.
HAVE AN IDEA FOR YOUR NEW LAYOUT
Prior to your move day, take some time to consider the layout for your new home. Having a general idea of where you want furniture will allow your movers to place it in the correct location for you. This will help limit the amount of times larger items need to be moved, while also speeding up the unloading process.
ARRANGE SOMEWHERE FOR KIDS AND PETS
Your move day will be hectic enough without adding kids and pets into the mix. If possible, make arrangements for both during your move. If this isn’t an option, figure out an area where they will be safe and out of the way of your movers. Be sure to put some items aside to keep young children occupied throughout the day. If everything is packed, the last thing you want to do is start digging through boxes at the last minute.
